Evgeny Popov is a Ukrainian photographer who moved to New York in 2010. For several years he assisted various photographers including some of the industry’s top masters (Craig McDean, Paolo Roversi, Patrick Demarchelier, David Sims, Solve Sundsbo) before starting to shoot on his own.

Fashion photography from the 90’s as well as the work of film directors Wim Wenders, David Lynch, Jean Luc Godard and Jim Jarmusch, are a constant source of inspiration for him, and story-telling is a central element in his work.

Besides his main focus in fashion photography, Evgeny has been working for the last three years on a personal project documenting Ukrainians during the turbulent years following the revolution of 2014 and the Russian invasion and partial annexation of the country.

Magazines and clients he worked for include Vogue Italia, Vogue Ukraine, Interview Magazine, Office Magazine, Donna Karan, Alexander Wang, Jahnkoy and Thom Browne.
